Step 5: Place, Top, Bake

Next we place the apple mixture in an 8×8 buttered pan. You can spray your pan with kitchen spray too if you like. I like using butter for this particular dish. Then add your toppings on top. Now bake it in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes at 350 F (176 C) until the top is nice and golden brown. If you like your apples more soft, bake it closer to 50 minutes. Put foil over the top if it is getting too brown. In my oven it takes right around 43 to 45 minutes.

*** I encourage you to make it as is the first time. Then if you make it again, play with the sweetness. If you want it less sweet, add a bit less white granulated sugar and brown sugar. If you want it to have more lemon flavor, add more lemon juice, and a bit of lemon zest. 🙂 🙂
